  The 100G QSFP28 LR4 optical module is a high-speed optical communication module based on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology. Designed with a QSFP28 package, the 100G LR4 optical module supports hot-swapping, enabling users to perform maintenance without interrupting network operations. Equipped with high-speed signal processing chips, the module ensures high-speed data transmission and low latency.

   The 100G LR4 optical module uses four wavelengths with frequencies of 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, and 1331nm, respectively, with a wavelength interval of 20nm. These wavelengths are selected based on the ITU-T G.694.1 standard, ensuring stability and low loss in optical fiber transmission. The QSFP28 LR4 converts four 25Gbps electrical signals into four LAN WDM optical signals, which are then multiplexed into a single channel to achieve 100G optical transmission.

  All optical modules have a certain optical attenuation value, which includes losses from the optical fiber itself, connector losses, fusion splicing losses, etc. In practical applications, a margin is typically reserved to ensure signal quality, addressing factors such as environmental changes and equipment aging.

  Application scenarios of the 100G LR4 optical module include 100G data center switches, 100G high-end campus core switches, and 5G mid-haul and backhaul networks.
